Amenities

Bratenahl Village is bordered on the north by Lake Erie and the south by I-90. Cleveland’s Martin Luther King Boulevard and E. 140thStreets border the west and east. Lake Shore Boulevard runs about three miles through Bratenahl with quiet, tree lined side streets, lots of green space, and plentiful wildlife. Bratenahl is home to about 1200 people and 700 households, with residents from all walks of life; young, old, wealthy and established, working class heroes, names you’d know from the newspaper, empty nesters, and young families.

With easy highway access onto I-90/Shoreway (nearly all residents are less than one mile from an entrance or exit!), most of Greater Cleveland is within a 20 minute drive in any direction. Except north, of course, unless you’re boating. Drive south through the Cultural Gardens on MLK Boulevard on your way to University Circle and the hospitals that keep Cleveland in the national news and the cultural institutions that make Cleveland world class. Drive east less than five miles to all the restaruants and entertainment districts of downtown. An easy ten minute drive and you’ll enjoy the energy of the Ohio City and Tremont neighborhoods!

Best of all, with only three entrances into the village and plentiful patrols by the Village of BratenahlPolice Department, Bratenahl is extremely safe. Don’t be surprised if one of our men or women in blue even offer you a chilled bottle of water during your Lakeshore Blvd. jog or dog walk!!

Bratenahl Village Park has a playground for young children, tennis courts, picnic tables for al fresco dining, a gazebo for concerts and events, and a fenced dog park for off-leash canine fun. Lake Shore Boulevard is a daily pooch parade, and conveniently situated PUP bag dispensers dot the way. (Click HERE for more information on being a good neighbor and proecting the environment.)

Speaking of dogs, Bratenahl is extremely pet friendly, with miles of safe, well-lit walking paths along Lakeshore with “Mutt Mits” supplied along the way. A generous dog park behind Village Hall with fresh running water, large dogs welcomed as canine residents in Bratenahl Place, and more walking trails in adjacent Rockefeller Park make this the ideal place for your animal and its “person” to share a life!

Bratenahl has housing choices for every lifestyle and budget, from apartments for rent in two-flats to luxury condominiums in the sky to gated townhouse communities to modest houses on quiet side streets to historic mansions built by Cleveland’s captains of industry in the early part of the 20th century.

But, the age-old question is: where do you shop? Why, anywhere you want! Bratenahl has easy access to many of Northeast Ohio’s other interesting neighborhoods: Little Italy, Larchmere, Coventry, the Waterloo Arts District, the Gordon Square Arts District.
